Service Introduction in an Active Network Service Introduction in an Active Network
In today's networks, the evolution of wide-area services is constrained by standardization and compatibility concerns. The result is that the introduction of a new service occurs much more slowly than the emergence of new applications and technologies that bene t from it. To ameliorate this problem, an active network exploits mobile code and programmable infrastructure to provide rapid and spec...

As mobile operating systems reach the same level of complexity of computer operating systems, these may be affected by the same vulnerabilities and may be subject to the same kind of attacks. Bluetooth provides connectivity to a mobile phone but this network can also be used as a channel to deploy attacks and access its resources, such as personal information, confidential files or the possibil...
متن کاملAn application of artificial neural network to maintenance management
This study shows the usefulness of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) in maintenance planning and man-agement. An ANN model based on the multi-layer perceptron having three hidden layers and four processing elements per layer was built to predict the expected downtime resulting from a breakdown or a maintenance activity. The model achieved an accuracy of over 70% in predicting the expected downtime.

FTP currently provides two commands for handling mail. The MAIL command allows a user to send mail via the TELNET connection (the server collects the mail and determines its end by searching for the character sequence "CRLF.CRLF"). The MLFL (mail file) command allows a user to send mail via the data connection (requires a user-FTP to handle the command but transfer is more efficient as server n...

ion). As with Softnet, the messenger system is similar to the capsule approach. It demonstrates that communications protocols can be successfully structured as migrating computations by implementing a sliding window protocol. Further, it shows that with care the resulting programs can be compact enough to be transferred as datagrams. For example, a network discovery program is given in a terse ...
